Lecture and workshop "How to create a sustainable wardrobe"
On Friday, May 30, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, we invite you to attend a lecture on sustainable wardrobe, learning:
1) How often should you change your wardrobe? We dispel the myths about seasonal colors quickly going out of fashion.
2) Sustainability index of popular brands: we compare H&M, Zara, Shein, Nike and Birkenstock.
3) Reading the label: top materials least harmful to nature.
4) To sum up: the true price of a new pair of jeans and shoes. Let's make a choice.
5) I won't wear it anymore! Give it away, sell it, or recycle it - which is more sustainable? The true possibilities of a coat to live a "second life".
6) Where to buy? Shopping routes for a responsible fashion consumer.
The lecture will be led by Karolīna Baumane. Lecture attendees are invited to bring small accessories (e.g., purses, belts, jewelry) to exchange or receive stylist consultation on integrating them into their wardrobe.
In parallel with the lecture, participants will have the opportunity to repair their favorite clothes in a repair workshop. Anyone who wants to learn the skills of restoring clothes, extending their useful life and reducing textile waste is invited to participate.
The workshop will be led by Agnese Gaidelone. We encourage you to bring fashion accessories for a change and clothing that you want to repair to the event.
Participation in the event is free.
The event is organized by the Cēsis Municipality and is funded by the LIFE project “From Waste to Resources”.
Photography and filming will be done during the event, and these materials may be used for publicity purposes.
