Fresh spirulina harvested in Latvia is frozen in portions that approximately correspond to the daily dose. During intensive sports and other overloads, the daily consumption can be increased. Fresh spirulina is a natural, unprocessed food rich in vitamins and antioxidants. Unlike most products worthy of the superfood title, it has a very neutral taste . Unlike artificial vitamin mixtures, which often cause side effects and irritate the stomach, such as iron preparations, spirulina is easily absorbed, improves the stomach microflora and does not irritate the digestive tract. How to use fresh frozen spirulina?

The easiest way to use fresh frozen spirulina is to thaw it in a half-cup or glass of water, juice, or other beverage. This will produce a bright green drink that tastes and tastes just like water. Warm water can be used for faster thawing; it is not advisable to put spirulina in boiling hot beverages. Spirulina thawed in water at room temperature should not be stored for more than a few hours. When thawing Spirulina spoils much more slowly in slightly acidic juice and can be stored at room temperature for several hours.
Before spirulina spoils, it changes from green to blue-violet. When thawed in juice, spirulina stays green longer. If the color remains blue-violet, then the spirulina cell has opened. As long as the characteristic "pond" aroma has not appeared, spirulina is safe to use despite the color change.
