Use of dry, purified propolis
Propolis is a sticky resinous substance that bees use to seal all the cracks in the hive and narrow the comb, because, due to the bactericidal and disinfectant properties of propolis, it protects the bee colony from the development of unfavorable microflora in the hive.
It has been studied that propolis has antibacterial, antitoxic, anti-inflammatory, anesthetic and stimulating properties. Propolis contains 45-55% resin, 10-15% essential oils, 20-40% wax, 5-15% pollen and impurities and contains vitamins (B groups, E, C, H, P), as well as minerals and trace elements (calcium, iron, copper, magnesium, etc.).
Propolis products, when properly prepared, are suitable for both oral use (nose, throat, eyes, gastrointestinal tract) and external use (treatment of wounds and boils, care of skin burns).
The easiest way to use such propolis is to chew a propolis grain once or twice a day to strengthen immunity. Dry propolis can also be used to solve skin problems, for example, by kneading dry propolis with your hands, it becomes soft, then making a cake out of it and applying it to the area where there is a skin infection (boil, purulent infection). Dry, purified propolis is mainly used as an ingredient in propolis oil, propolis alcohol and in the manufacture of other propolis-containing products.
Granular propolis is used for oral inflammations and colds. Chew a couple of grains of dry propolis for about 5-10 minutes. Then spit out the remaining wax.
For wounds, boils, joint and nerve pain, warm propolis is applied to the affected area; for warts and corns, the affected limbs are soaked well and a propolis bandage is applied for 3-4 days (for corns, propolis can be used together with fat). For stomach and intestinal ulcers, mouth and throat inflammations, chew propolis pieces for 10-15 minutes, then stop for 1-2 hours. You can consume 1-3 grams daily.
CAUTION! Propolis, like other beekeeping products, can be allergenic, so consult your doctor before using it.
Store at room temperature. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
